A Letter of Recommendation by Dr. Rick Finley

Dear Friend,

It is my honor to write this letter of recommendation for my friends and fellow servants, Tyler and Kathryn Robertson.  I have known of Tyler and Kathryn for many years.  For more than twenty years, our church rented the camp where Kathryn’s parents, Tim and Jamie Hicks, served as the directors.  On occasion, our paths would cross with the Robertsons there at camp.  In 2019, the Lord directed the Robertsons to join our church; and for the past five years, Tyler has served as a member of our pastoral staff here at Fellowship Baptist Church.

Tyler’s life has uniquely equipped him for the ministry to which the Lord is calling him.  He grew up under Pastor Bobby Roberson and was privileged to spend much time with Bro. Bobby as a young, aspiring preacher.  He served alongside his in-laws at the Gospel Light Christian Camp in Hillsville, Virginia, for ten years where he gained priceless experience working with juniors and teens.

Here at Fellowship Baptist, Tyler has worn many different hats.  In my opinion, the responsibility that has most prepared him for his next season of ministry has been his work with the Striving Together Class, our young couples’ class. Striving Together has experienced steady and continual growth under his leadership.  As their teacher, Tyler has been very involved in the lives of these young couples and has offered them much guidance and direction. 

Tyler Robertson is an able communicator.  He is a capable preacher of the Word of God, and the Lord has used him in this pulpit ministry here at FBC.  He also has the ability to connect with people of all ages on a personal level.  Kathryn has been around ministry her entire life and is “all in” when it comes to her husband’s vision.  It is my belief that the two of them will be a great blessing wherever the Lord opens doors for them to minister.
